Journey
On this page, I will document the journey in which I was able to create the final video step by step and the key parts which all worked together to produce the video.
Equipment:
Spinning Platform:
This piece of equipment was crucial for making the video as I knew beforehand that I wanted to use this for lots of different shots which turned out well. I therefore planned this in advance as these are also used for lots of product based videos as you are guaranteed a stable and easy 360 degrees shot of the product to show it off.
When recording, I used this piece of equipment a lot as I needed a few shots in which I showcase the final product and even the individual steps on how I got there. This just helped to make the whole video come across as more professional and looked a lot more appealing the just having the drink sit still as it allowed the audience to see more.

Soft-box Lights:
Another key part of planning on the equipment, was deciding on lighting as I knew it could have been a problem. For example, the film I planned to film in is very dark yet also has some bad lighting areas. Due to this, I planned ahead to use my brothers Soft-box lights to guarantee that everything in shot will be lit up and can clearly be seen within the shot. These pieces if equipment are very difficult as they take up a lot of room and they are also hard to set up as there're lots of steps on how to do it correctly.
However, once it was set up it was very straight forward as you simply place it in position and switch it on. These were super useful as they completely changed the whole video and without them, the video would have a lot worse lighting. Also, despite the power and size of these, they did not overheat or cause any problems so overall these were a game changer and saved the video!
Live Monitor:
Despite not planning to use this originally, this live monitor extension made everything when filming and planning 10 times easier as there are so many uses for it. A main reason was that it acted as a larger screen so I could get a better understanding of what is currently on screen and also just to get a clearer image. Another great function was the focus feature. With this, it highlighted anything that wasn't fully focused in a bright pink colour to show us what was not focused to prevent us from filming content that was not fully focused which saved us a lot of time stress and planning.
Another amazing use for this was the fact I was able to apply a smaller LUT which basically enhanced certain colours on screen so it gave me a rough idea on how they would look like when actually editing which helped me save time as I then didn't have to spend ages seeing if I liked them or not.

Frames:
When planning this whole video, I planned to use a couple slow motion shots as I personally think they work a lot better in these sorts of videos as they match the theme, look professional and also look more appealing for the viewers. In order to do this, I filmed the actual footage I wanted to use in slow motion in 5o frames per second. Then, when editing, I changed the editing sequence to 25 frames per second as it would then create a much smoother slow motion shot than if I was to just slow down the clip in premier pro. These shots came out looking super appealing as you could see everything in shot clearly and just overall managed to match the video very well in my opinion.
Background:
Also, since this whole project was filmed at home I had to get creative on how I could try and make the video look better. I came up with the idea that I could use a television as a background to try and make the audience think it was actually filmed in a different location. Basically, this worked as my own homemade green screen. This helped me a lot as a main part of this project was to show that you can still make high quality videos at home without the use of a studio or anything like that.
